Basketball Scouting
Objective: C3 Scouting, based in Aberdeen, South Dakota, required a subscription-based website that would allow basketball coaches to access extensive data for evaluating high school basketball talent. The platform needed to provide coaches with a wealth of information in an engaging and user-friendly manner.
Approach: The design was crafted to capture the essence of the regional basketball circuit while maintaining a crisp and modern aesthetic. I used a minimal color palette with a bright, forward color as the main highlight, creating a classy and contemporary vibe. The focus was on delivering a clean, professional design that also appealed to the sports community.
Design Elements: Key features of the site included detailed player profiles and a subscription portal, which allowed users to access vast amounts of data in a unique and enjoyable way. The design emphasized clarity and ease of use, ensuring that coaches could quickly find and utilize the information they needed.
User Experience (UX): The site was meticulously optimized for mobile use, catering to coaches who are often on the go. Dynamic pages and a blog feature were integrated, allowing scouts to upload data quickly and efficiently, and write articles directly from their phones. This mobile optimization was crucial in ensuring that the site was functional and accessible at all times.
Technical Details: The website was built on Wix, a platform chosen for its flexibility and ease of customization. This project stands out as one of the best sites I have built, both in terms of design and functionality. The site was tailored to meet the specific needs of C3 Scouting, offering a seamless user experience for its subscription-based model.
Results & Impact: The site has received glowing reviews and is expected to play a crucial role in C3 Scouting's operations when they launch fully at the start of 2025, following their official NCAA licensing. The positive feedback from the client underscores the success of the project.
Collaboration & Feedback: Throughout the development process, the feedback from the C3 Scouting team was consistently positive. The site has been well-received by all members of their team, who praised both the design and the functionality of the platform.
