Objective: The Optical Shop, located in Brookings, South Dakota, needed to transition to a more user-friendly platform that would allow them to easily update their website in-house. The primary goal was to maintain the existing look and feel of their previous site while enhancing it with a modern touch and additional functionality.
Approach: I selected a platform that would enable a quick and seamless transition to meet their goals. The focus was on retaining the familiar design elements that The Optical Shop valued, while making necessary updates to give the site a fresh, modern appeal. Updated photos and team bios were incorporated to elevate the overall presentation.
Design Elements: The design was straightforward, preserving the aesthetics of the previous site while introducing modern updates. The goal was to make the site look and feel current, without straying from the brand identity that The Optical Shop had already established. The result was a simple yet effective update that met the client’s expectations.
User Experience (UX): To enhance user experience, I streamlined several of the site's processes, making it easier for patients to communicate with the shop and sign necessary documents. The site was designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate, ensuring that both the staff and patients could interact with it smoothly.
Technical Details: The site was built on Wix, a platform chosen for its ease of use and flexibility. While the initial build was straightforward, Wix provides the potential for future expansion, allowing The Optical Shop to incorporate additional features as needed.
Results & Impact: The outcome was a modernized version of the old site, which The Optical Shop team was proud of. They appreciated the ability to regularly update the site themselves, a key goal of the project. The site successfully met the client’s needs for a user-friendly and easily manageable platform.
Collaboration & Feedback: The client was pleased with the streamlined transition and the final product. The new site not only reflected their existing brand but also provided them with the tools to keep it up-to-date and relevant.
