3 Reasons Why You Should Go Outside and Take Pictures of your Business

Hey everyone! If you’re like me, you’re pretty excited to see the weather warm up lately and are starting to think about spring and summer plans. As things get nicer outside, I thought it would be great to outline why you should get out and take some updated pictures of your business. It can be very important if you have a physical location to get pictures of what it looks like from the outside, so people know what it looks like when they are either driving by or looking for your business. Because as the weather gets nicer, that definitely means there is an increase in “walking traffic” whether it’s in a mall or walking down the sidewalk in front of your business. If you get into the habit of doing this with the changing seasons, it also helps keep your content looking fresh and relevant.

So, what should you do after you’ve taken these updated pictures? Well, here are 3 ideas for you:

  1. Update your social media banners - We see a lot of companies that actually have a storefront use pictures of that as their Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn banners. This does help show everyone what your business looks like, and the bonus with doing this on Facebook is that it will also count as a post on your page. So, update the banner and add a caption or description talking about looking forward to the upcoming weather and now you’ve got 2 birds with one stone!

  2. Update your website pictures - For a lot of the same reasons as mentioned above, keeping your website looking up-to-date can help keep your business looking relevant. If your website also has a blog or you update content regularly that people might link to, this will also help pull those updated pictures as a link preview if they were to share it on their social media channels as well.

  3. Social post - So, let’s say you’re using the banners on your social channels for something else and don’t want it to be the picture of your building. Well, that’s fine! Try using these new pictures as a post in and of themselves. Make sure you get some pictures while the weather is nice and then look to make the post on another nice day to encourage people to take advantage of the nice weather and come to your business. Maybe you’re a restaurant with a rooftop that will be open or a coffee shop that can now have people out on a patio - these are all great ways to attract customers and remind them of what they can do when the weather gets nice.

Hopefully reading this article has helped you think of a couple of ideas of how you can use updated pictures for your business. If you can think of any other ways to use these, please comment below and share ideas with other business owners who read this blog!

Cheers,

Matt.
